3 Year Old Class
Last week was another fun week in the 3 year old class. We read a few stories that focused on reusing and recycling furniture and clothing. After we read the story, Peter's Chair, we discussed the different ways we had reused our old toys and baby furniture with siblings, cousins or others. Then we read the story Something from Nothing, where we saw how a grandfather kept recycling his grandson's old blanket into new things instead of just throwing them away.
I can't believe it, but our last week of preschool is here! We will meet one day in the classroom, and then meet for the final time at Central Park. We will be enjoying some fun stories and activities on our last day of class. It has been a great first year for me here at St. Mary's School. I look forward to ending the year with a fun day at the park. Thank you all for your support this year!

It is so hard to believe, but we are at the end of the school year already. We have only one day of class this week and then on Wednesday we will be meeting at Central Park for our End of Year Party. On Monday, we will be spending time with Mr. Fedewa--our last music class before the big show on Tuesday. We will be working on a hand print autograph project as our final project of the year.
Thank you to everyone who has made this such a wonderful year. I look forward to seeing you at the party on Wednesday.

4 Year old PM class
We wrapped up our study on garbage and recycling last week by focusing on recycling and reusing materials. After reading the story, The Paper Bag Princess, the children recycled a paper grocery bag into vests. Once again, I loved to see the creativity that went into their designs. They immediately put the vests on and incorporated them into their play.
Another favorite activity from the week was playing the card game, War. We put a little spin on the traditional game by having the children flip over 2 cards. They had to add the two numbers together by counting the symbols, and then determine which sum was higher. This would be a great game to play over the summer to practice math facts.
This week is our final week of preschool. We meet in class during our regular times Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. On Thursday we will be meeting at Central Park for our end of year celebration. I can't thank you all enough for your support. This has been a great first year for me at St. Mary's School. I look forward to celebrating with you all on Thursday.
