Director of High School Faith Formation
Katrina grew up in Grand Haven, Michigan, in a strong Catholic homeschool family. After graduating high school, Katrina went to the University of Tennessee - Martin and Michigan State University, where she graduated with her degree in Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resource Education. Katrina then followed God's personal calling to the field of education by teaching Agriculture and Natural Resources for three years in the public school system in south-west Michigan. Katrina met her husband, Matthew, and they began to discern God's will for their vocations. Through prayer, they felt God was calling them to marriage and they were married in the summer of 2022. During their engagement, Katrina and Matthew discerned that God was calling Katrina to a specifically Catholic form of education, and in September of 2022 Katrina was hired at St. Mary's in Spring Lake as the Director of High School Faith Formation. Katrina is passionate about Catholicism, working with youth, and education. She is very excited to be starting this new step in her journey with God, and prays that she may serve the St. Mary's community well. In her free time she and her husband work on their micro-farm projects, go camping and hiking, visit family and friends, and spend time in coffee shops. Katrina's favorite Catholic resources are The Great Adventure Bible, the Bible in a Year podcast, the Hallow App, the Word on Fire Bible, and the Word on Fire Show. |
