Born and raised in Michigan, I grew up in Farmington, graduated from the University of Michigan, raised my family in Howell and have lived in Grand Haven since 2011. I have held a variety of jobs in the Church; as a teacher (2nd grade, 6th grade science, 8th grade religion and general music/band/strings), children/youth choir director and youth minister. I’ve worked for St. Agnes in Fowerville MI, St. Joseph in Howell MI and St. John the Evangelist in Frederick MD before coming to St. Mary’s.
My husband, Gary, and I have lived in Grand Haven for the past since 2011 years. Gary has been a St. Mary’s parishioner for 25 years. I joined St. Mary’s when I relocated here from MD. Between the two of us there are 5 children and 13 grandchildren, whom we love to spend time with. We also enjoy fishing, hiking, biking, travel and wine tours. One of the things I brought back from MD was the idea of making prayer shawls. With Fr. Dan’s encouragement we began the St. Mary’s Prayer Shawl Ministry in 2011. Gary and I are also Sacristan’s and Eucharistic Ministers, usually at the 4:30 Mass.
I am so grateful, humbled and excited to be a part of the St. Mary’s parish family. Coming to St. Mary’s feels like coming home. I LOVE God and I love finding His hand massaging our lives. Helping children find and follow His path is such a blessing and joy. Faith Formation can’t start soon enough for me. Let’s learn, let’s grow, let’s celebrate together!
Please feel free to call, email or just stop in to say hello. I look forward to seeing you at the festival and working with you in the coming years. May God continue to bless you, your families and your journey.
Yours in faith,
