I have been blessed to be a part of St. Mary's School for the past two years. I am honored to be a part of the Tri-Cities area Catholic community and excited to be a part of building a new Catholic school here. I have been a teacher and principal for over thirty years. My wife Nancy and I will be celebrating thirty years of marriage this summer. Nancy is a kindergarten teacher at St. Anthony of Padua School in Grand Rapids. Nancy and I both attended Michigan State University where we earned our undergraduate degrees in education. I obtained my master's degree from MSU as well. I enjoy officiating high school and local college basketball during the winter months. I also like to spend as much time as possible at our family cottages on Platte Lake biking, hiking or playing in or on the lake.
We have four children who all attended Catholic schools in Grand Rapids. Our daughter Laura was a third generation graduate of Grand Rapids Catholic Central and earned her BA degree from Grand Valley State University. Our son John also graduated from Catholic Central and attends Central Michigan University. Our son Paul graduated from Grand Rapids West Catholic and attends Grand Rapids Community College, while our youngest son Luke is a junior at West Catholic.
