ear School Families,
I hope and pray that we are done with the extreme cold, ice and snowstorms for this winter. With all the these days missed due to the weather, Fr. Dave and I have decided to add Easter Monday back on our school calendar along with making Thursday, March 28th and Friday, June 7th Full Days Please mark your calendars accordingly.
We do have a number of events coming up in the next few weeks that should be on your calendars as well. Some of them have been rescheduled due to the weather. The first is "Protect Young Eyes" presentations on Wednesday, February 20th. The students will be given grade level presentations during the school day and there will be a parent presentation in the A,B,C Rooms beginning at 6:30 pm. These presentations will help create a safer digital environment at home and school. Next week, join us at Two Tony's on Wednesday, February 27th between 4:00 pm - 9:00 pm for dinner (details attached). Also, our rescheduled "Family Fun Night" here in the gym on Thursday, February 28th, 5:30-8:00 pm. There will be auctions, games, raffles, pizza and root beer to make this fun for everyone! The other event coming up in the next month is the Tri-Cities Unity Auction on Saturday, March 16th at Fricano's Place in Muskegon. This is the largest fundraiser each year that goes towards scholarships and targeted special programs/projects at St. Mary's School along with the two parishes who support our school, St. Patrick's and St. Mary's.
To prepare for Lent our St. Mary's students and staff will be leading Mass on Saturday, March 2nd at 4:30 pm and on Ash Wednesday, March 6th at 9:00 am. Our middle school choir will be leading the music at each Mass. Staff will be Eucharistic Ministers. Students are to be in their Mass Uniforms at each of these special Masses.
Blue Registration Forms were sent home last week. Please return them with the $100 Registration fee for each student by Friday, February 22nd. Thanks for those families who already returned them to the office.
Please be sure to scroll through the information on the bottom of this letter and view the attachments for important school news.

Do you know what apps are on your child’s phone? What are the latest social media trends? Do you wonder about how to talk to kids about online pornography, limit screen time, and protect them from digital strangers?
In the digital age, parents must be observant, engaged, and informed. We'll discuss digital realities, strategies, and practical solutions that will enlighten, equip and encourage parents who want to teach their children how to use technology responsibly. The talk will include specific recommendations for filters and detailed explanations of popular apps and parental controls.
The Protect Young Eyes team, led by founder, Chris McKenna, presents around the United States to students and adults about how to use technology responsibly. Parents can visit our website, built with families in mind, at https://protectyoungeyes.com/blog
