St. Mary’s Pantry has had the privilege and honor to work with these young adults (18-26) over the last twelve years. Each Tuesday morning you will find them eagerly taking charge of your donations (transporting by carts to the pantry, checking dates, restocking shelves, and so on). In their classroom, each student gets a turn with having a Challenge Coin. It is an opportunity for them to try to think outside the box and to help others in the community. Ryan thought of our pantry. He wanted to donate food to those in need and asked others to donate as well. He was very proud to do this, using his money earned at a work site, he bought groceries. It was a big surprise when Ryan walked into the pantry last Tuesday with these gifts. “Miss Dorothy, I have food for the shelves” & proceeded to stock them. I received a big hug from Ryan. I love working with the CBI kids. They bring joy wherever they go.
