Beginning April 3, the Wednesday morning Mass will move from 8 am to 7 am. This will give people a chance to attend an earlier Mass, but also recognize that the majority of attendees like the 8 am time. The Wednesday morning confession times will still be 7:30 am, or immediately following Mass. Hopefully this will be a good compromise for everyone.
St. Mary’s Senior Group, “The Young @ Heart” invites all men and women; age 55 or older to their April Potluck on Thursday, April 11th, at 12 noon in St. Mary’s Activity Center Room A-B-C.
Steering Committee members will prepare MEAT LOAF for all. You may bring a hot dish, cold dish, salad or dessert to share. Table settings and beverages will be provided as usual. Following the potluck, there will be BINGO for those who would like to participate.
Reservations are needed by Wednesday, April 3rd. If you did not write your name on the sign up sheet when we met in March, please call Warren & Joyce Anderson at 616-842-8649 to R.S.V.P. If you get their answering machine, leave a message (name, phone number and reason for calling) so they can return your call.
St. Mary’s Pantry has had the privilege and honor to work with these young adults (18-26) over the last twelve years. Each Tuesday morning you will find them eagerly taking charge of your donations (transporting by carts to the pantry, checking dates, restocking shelves, and so on). In their classroom, each student gets a turn with having a Challenge Coin. It is an opportunity for them to try to think outside the box and to help others in the community. Ryan thought of our pantry. He wanted to donate food to those in need and asked others to donate as well. He was very proud to do this, using his money earned at a work site, he bought groceries. It was a big surprise when Ryan walked into the pantry last Tuesday with these gifts. “Miss Dorothy, I have food for the shelves” & proceeded to stock them. I received a big hug from Ryan. I love working with the CBI kids. They bring joy wherever they go.
