TITLE: Maintenance Technician Assistant
REPORTS TO: Plant Manager
Performs maintenance and custodial duties for the upkeep on all buildings and grounds to include preventative maintenance procedures on all mechanical, plumbing and electrical equipment. This position covers a five (5) day work week to include weekends. Two (2) days, Mon-Fri, will be given as days off after supervisor approval. Hours may vary due to seasonal demands.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
Education: High School diploma or equivalent required. Knowledge of mechanical, plumbing and electrical systems helpful but not required.
Previous building and grounds maintenance preferred.
Able to lift and push materials weighing up to 60 pounds. Frequent bending and stooping. Able to climb ladders and work at heights of thirty (30) feet. Must be able to pass a background check.
Preferred Knowledge, Skill & Abilities:
Computer and internet abilities.
Perform minor maintenance duties on all parish buildings and equipment as required.
Perform custodial duties in all parish buildings as required.
Perform minor inspections of all parish buildings and equipment as required.
Perform grounds upkeep to include snow/ice removal and storm cleanup.
Perform set-up of tables, chairs & other equipment needed for parish events.
Perform other duties as assigned during a five (5) day work week to include weekends.
Hours are Mon – Fri (except for 2 days off) 1 pm to 9 pm and Sat – Sun flexible.
Work is performed in and out of doors and during inclement weather. May be required to work at heights up to 30 feet and in tight spaces or with little working room. May be exposed to harsh chemicals and cleaning supplies.

We have enough volunteers to fill all open slots. Thank you to everyone who has offered to help. We invite you to join us for dinner on Thanksgiving Day from 12:00-3:00 p.m.
If you or someone you know would like a meal delivered you have until 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 21 to call the parish office (616.842.1702) and add your name to the list. Thanksgiving meals will be delivered between noon and 1:00 p.m. Thanksgiving day.
