Congratulations Clare Stempky!
Eighth grade student Clare Stempky stood out as a positive role model, and was selected by Principal VanHammen to represent St. Mary’s School in the "Lunch with a Deputy" program of the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office. Deputy Corey Allard picked Clare up at school before Christmas Break and they went to Butch's Beach Burritos for lunch. The Sheriff's Office has partnered with Butch's Beach Burritos and McDonalds of Spring lake to sponsor the program, providing a complimentary meal of their choice to celebrate the student’s success.
A big THANK YOU for those that donated to our American Legion Firefighters' CRUSADE FOR TOYS.
With your help, Christmas was a much happier time for many children. They were able to serve 136 families and 363 children in the northwest Ottawa County area this year, along with providing toys for the stores of Salvation Army, Love in Action and Coopersville Care Center, each child got $40 worth of new clothing, and caps, gloves, toys, games and candy. They also gave the Grand Haven & Spring Lake Special Education Buses a stuffed animal for each child, which numbered 139.
