Current families who apply for aid are encouraged to adhere to this deadline as Bishop’s Scholarship funds are determined using this deadline. Scholarships given by the Bishop’s fund help alleviate the amount that is taken from the scholarship account, therefore, allowing us to service more families. Please do your best to meet this deadline. If you applied last year your information rolls over. NOTE: Families will not be eligible to receive any Parish scholarship funds until their Smart Aid applications has a "verified" status. ****All instructions are attached **** Please read the attachments, and if you still have questions, contact Mary Peel in the school office 616-842-1282 ext. 202

Last week we learned about RESPECT - Check out the TV Monitor in the school lobby to see who we recognized going over and above practicing the Virtue TEMPERANCE/SELF-CONTROL. Be sure to like us on facebook ! At our school assembly this morning, Mrs. Derck’s 5th Grade class created a premise, a script, and then directed themselves in a play to showcase good and bad examples of self-control. A creative way to introduce our school-wide Virtue for the week of 10/8 TEMPERANCE/SELF-CONTROL.

This was for all School and Parish families that use the program to save money on Tuition, Mission Trip, Faith Formation, or simply to donate for the Mary Light of Learning Campaign. If you would like to take part in this awesome program, or simply have questions...please contact the scrip office: scrip@stmarysl.org or call 616-842-1702 ext 260 Visit the website https://www.stmarysl.org/scrip.html Dear School Families,
Thanks to everyone who has or is selling the WESCO Popcorn Buckets. We've sold over 100 buckets so far! We still have them for sale in the school office if you'd like to purchase or sell them for $12 each. We earn half of the $12 which goes to support our St. Mary's School by helping to reduce the cost of our field trips and general maintenance on our bus. It was nice to see so many families at the Blessing of the Pets on Thursday morning. I hope to see most of our St. Mary's School dads this Friday, October 12th in the Abbey before school at 8:00 am for "Donuts with Dads". All dads (or any other significant father figure) are welcome to bring their St. Mary's School children to this event between 8:00-8:30 am. It would be great if the dads could join us for our Friday School Mass at 9:00 am. Stay dry this weekend. God Bless. Steve VanHammen, Principal St. Mary's School, Spring Lake Phone (616) 842-1282 "Inspired by Saint Mary and rooted in our Catholic faith, St. Mary's School fosters spiritual development, academic excellence, responsibility to self, and service to others in order that the Gospel of Christ may be known in the world."
