Thank you for the Catholic Youth Bibles!

10/19/2020

Miss Skorupski's 2nd grade class used their new Catholic Youth Bibles to read about the Joyful Mysteries and draw pictures of the events! Thank you to the  generous donors for providing these bibles for our school.

We are called to BE a witness.

10/15/2020

Ms. Doyle reminds us each morning in her Doyle's Daily from a SHORTER distance that we are called to BE a witness today and everyday, BE taken over by the light of Christ, and to spread that light wherever you are. We do this by following the virtues.

Project Hand in Hand ministry opportunity for our 7/8 graders

10/14/2020

ATTENTION St Mary's School 7th & 8th Grade:
The Hand in Hand ministry is a student-led effort to support other students in times of need, primarily through hygiene product donations. Through generous donations, we are able to pack hundreds of bags to be distributed to area youth and families experiencing hardship. This has been a partnership with Spring Lake schools and has included donations to Muskegon area schools as well.
Father Dave has given us permission to host a small service event so that we can restock our hygiene bags. We will have limited attendance, require students and team to wear a mask, and will have gloves and sanitizer available for everyone.
The event will be outside!
**In the event of inclement weather, participants will be notified via text/email and social media.
Here are the details:
Sunday, October 18th
3-4pm
7th-12th grade students
several Virtus trained adult leaders will be present.
Students must wear a mask.
We ask that everyone RSVP to handinhandspringlake@gmail.com or to me at 937.776.3798.
I look forward to more opportunities to work together with our St Mary's Parish community!
Kindly,
Michelle Boerger
Hand in Hand adult leader and youth program admin volunteer

Doyle's Daily from a SHORTER Distance 10/13

10/13/2020

Our 6th graders led our morning pledge, prayer and talked about the virtue trustworthiness during Doyle's Daily from a Shorter Distance this morning.

CIVILIZE IT - Take the civility pledge!

10/9/2020

We know how much many of you want to be with us at our all school masses; We too wish you could see the increased engagement and faithfulness that reverberates due to a little distance between friends. Instead, let us share a little of Father Dave's message from this morning as it relates directly to the times we live in. He told us, "This is a time to love and follow God where ever He leads us." He reminded us that division and disagreement come from the devil, and that we are called to "be brought together by the love of God." With all this in mind, we are embracing civility at St. Mary's School! Be sure to view the video below for more information about the Civility Pledge we are using to teach respectful discourse in our school. https://youtu.be/aYCnQddJpUA
If you are willing to take the pledge to promote civility, love our neighbors, and build community. it is available online at www.CivilizeItMichigan.com.

OUR PUMPKIN EXPLODED!!!
Unfortunately, no one was present to witness the powerful explosion. Mr. Earl is going through our school camera footage and hopefully we will be able to view the event soon.
We'll be sure to post the video!
Congratulations to our 7/8 grade class who guessed it would take 377 rubber bands to explode the pumpkin - off by only 1!

This year, our Blessing of the Pets was virtual. School families were invited to bring in framed photographs and drawings of their pets for a special blessing by Father Dave - in honor of Saint Francis of Assisi patron saint of animals and the environment.
