Mike & Lynn Caraway, St. Martin's Kids in country partners, recently hosted a couple traveling through the continent of Africa, Martine and Andrew. Here is a translated excerpt from their website 4x4travelbox.NL about their visit:
"Arriving in Sumbawanga Andrew did some shopping and refueling, while Martine visited the orphanage where Luka was collected as malnourished baby before he was admitted in the Caraway's family. The austere orphanage is run with love, but nevertheless leaves a heartbreaking impression. That's not for lack of toys, but the lack of attention for all children. It employs some staff with some volunteers, 30 to 50 children aged 0 to 6 years. The road to Lake Tanganyika led by Katavi National Park, where elephants we saw lots of hippos and crocodiles."
